Family demands answers after Andaman youth is found dead in Bengaluru

Port Blair Nov 7: A young life ended in mystery — and his family refuses to accept the official line. The parents of Year-old Sujay Sarkar from North and Middle Andaman have accused unknown assailants of staging his death as a suicide and have urged a fresh, thorough probe after their son was found dead in Bengaluru on September 29, 2025.
As per a report, the father of Sujay has filed a written complaint with Billiground police, alleging that his son’s death in Bengaluru was not self-inflicted but a premeditated murder. Sujay, a second-year D.Pharm student at R.R. College, lived in a rented room near campus.

According to the complaint submitted by Biswajit Sarkar, Sujay was in regular contact with his family until shortly before he died and had shown no signs of depression or suicidal intent. The family claims photographs taken by friends shortly before his death show multiple injury marks across Sujay’s body — details they say are inconsistent with a suicide.

The complaint alleges that Sujay was kidnapped, tortured and killed by people known to him, and that his body was later placed in his room to mimic a suicide. The family says several individuals may be involved and has called on police to pursue all leads.

Initial inquiries were handled by Soladevanahalli Police Station in Bengaluru. The family, however, believes key leads may have been missed and has sought assistance from North and Middle Andaman police to ensure a more rigorous investigation. Superintendent of Police Shweta K. Sugathan confirmed the matter falls outside local jurisdiction but said she has spoken with the DCP in Bengaluru and requested a proper inquiry after receiving the father’s complaint.

In a letter to the Lieutenant Governor and senior island police officials the family pleaded: “We just want justice for our son.” They have also called for a senior police team to visit Bengaluru to cross-check facts and safeguard the integrity of the probe.

As authorities coordinate across jurisdictions, the central question remains: suicide or a carefully staged murder? The family and the public now await a detailed forensic investigation to reveal the truth.
