Port Blair, Sept. 24: In a push to take opportunities to the nation’s remotest corners, the Indian Army will hold a recruitment rally in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands this October under its “Delhi se Dweep” initiative. The move is aimed at ensuring island youth do not miss out on a chance to don the uniform because of distance and logistical hurdles. The Recruiting Office (Headquarters), Chennai has announced that the rally will be held at Netaji Stadium here from October 8–10 for candidates from North & Middle Andaman and South Andaman districts, and at the Mini Sports Stadium, Campbell Bay on October 14–15 exclusively for aspirants from the Nicobar District.
The rally will cover a wide range of categories, including Agniveer General Duty (All Arms), Agniveer Technical, Agniveer Tradesman (10th & 8th pass), Agniveer Office Assistant/Store Keeper Technical, Sepoy Pharmacy, Soldier Technical Nursing Assistant/Nursing Assistant (Veterinary), and Agniveer (General Duty) Women in the Corps of Military Police. Admit cards for shortlisted candidates — selected through the online Common Entrance Examination (CEE) for the 2025–26 recruiting year — will be issued in the last week of August. Aspirants are advised to regularly check www.joinindianarmy.nic.in and their registered emails for updates. Reporting date and time will be mentioned on the admit card itself.
The Army has made it clear that documentation will be strictly enforced. Candidates must bring all required documents in the prescribed format as listed in the official notification; incomplete or incorrect paperwork — especially affidavits — will result in disqualification.
Officials have reiterated that the recruitment process is fully automated, fair and transparent. Youth are being cautioned against touts and fraudsters who falsely claim to secure selection. “Only preparation and performance will determine success. Touts have no role to play,” the Army has stressed.
For clarifications, candidates can contact the Recruiting Office (Headquarters), Chennai at 044-25674924. By bringing the rally closer to the doorsteps of aspirants in the remote Nicobar Islands, the Army hopes to inspire a new generation of island youth to embrace a life of honour, discipline and service to the nation.
