Port Blair Oct 21: Bridging technology with inclusion, the State Bank of India (SBI) has taken a commendable step toward empowering persons with disabilities in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands through its latest Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The Bank donated a state-of-the-art Smart Board to the Composite Regional Centre (CRC), A&N Islands, marking a milestone in the advancement of digital learning, tele-rehabilitation, and inclusive education in the region.
The handover ceremony, held at the CRC campus, Brookshabad, was graced by Shri Santhosh Sahu, Regional Manager, SBI Vijaya Puram; C. Raj, Director, RSETI, SBI; and K N Raju, Chief Manager, SBI, who jointly handed over the Smart Board to Sumithamol S., Director, CRC A&N Islands.
Speaking on the occasion, Santhosh Sahu said, “SBI is proud to associate with CRC A&N Islands in promoting inclusive digital education and rehabilitation services. Through this CSR initiative, we aim to strengthen the empowerment and well-being of persons with disabilities across the Islands.”
In her closing remarks Sumithamol S., Director, CRC A&N Islands, expressed heartfelt gratitude to SBI for its meaningful contribution and reaffirmed CRC’s commitment to fostering digital empowerment and inclusive growth for persons with disabilities in the Islands.
The initiative not only underscores SBI’s social commitment but also reflects how technology can serve as a powerful enabler for inclusivity, accessibility, and empowerment.
