Port Blair, Sept 27: A year-old man who stepped off a passenger ship at Haddo Wharf four months ago has simply vanished—leaving behind a trail of questions and growing concern for his safety.
Prashant, son of Ashok Kumar and a resident of Rohtak, Haryana, was last seen on May 23, 2025, disembarking from M.V. Sindhu at Port Blair. Since then, there has been no trace of him. A missing report was eventually lodged at PS Chatham on June 12, 2025, but despite weeks of enquiries, his whereabouts remain unknown.
According to SP, South Andaman, police investigations suggest Prashant may have left home under financial stress and could be keeping a low profile, possibly concealing his identity. Described as 5 ft 8 in tall, slim-built, with a long face, he has so far evaded all attempts to trace him.
Authorities have appealed to the public to come forward with any credible leads. “Even the smallest tip could help us locate him. The identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential,” the SP said. Anyone with information can contact the police at 112/100, 236641, 258019 or 224934, he added.
