Port Blair, Oct 27: The quiet market lanes of Rangat Bazaar turned into scenes of despair when a fierce midnight fire on October 25 reduced several shops to ashes, leaving traders and small business owners staring at the ruins of their hard-earned livelihoods.
Expressing deep sorrow over the tragedy, G. Bhasker, Chairman of the Campaign Committee, ANTCC, conveyed heartfelt sympathy to all who lost their properties and means of sustenance. “Our hearts go out to the affected families who are facing immense hardship due to this tragedy. At this moment of grief, the ANTCC stands firmly beside them and pledges full support to help them rebuild their lives,” he said.
Moved by the plight of the victims, Bhasker has written to the Chief Secretary, urging the Andaman & Nicobar Administration to provide immediate relief and rehabilitation assistance to the affected shop owners and their families.
