Port Blair, Nov 3: The Andaman & Nicobar Traffic Police has taken strong action against noise pollution by penalising a bus driver for using a multi-tone high-pressure horn in violation of road safety norms.
In an awareness message shared on X (formerly Twitter) on November 1, the department informed that a challan had been issued to the offender and cautioned motorists that such horns cause serious disturbance to patients, students, and the general public.
Accompanying the post, the police reiterated its appeal to drive responsibly, reminding road users that:
“🚫 Use of Pressure Horn = Noise Pollution + Legal Action! … 💸 Fine: ₹10,000/- 🔊 Drive responsibly, don’t let your horn become a nuisance.”
