Port Blair Nov 7: Motorists in Port Blair may need to take a detour this week — the main road leading to Chanakya Tuition Centre at School Line Junction will remain closed for over two weeks to allow the completion of crucial road construction work.
The District Magistrate, South Andaman, has announced the temporary closure of the main road to Chanakya Tuition Centre at School Line Junction from November 8 to November 22, 2025, to facilitate ongoing road construction.
The order, issued under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, aims to ensure public safety and uninterrupted progress of the work, which could not be completed within the earlier schedule.
During the closure period, all vehicular traffic will be diverted from Chanakya Tuition Centre towards Ranchi Basthi (Little Angle Clinic). The administration has urged motorists to follow diversion signs and cooperate with authorities to ensure smooth traffic movement in the area.
Citizens are requested to plan their routes accordingly and exercise caution while commuting through the adjoining roads during this period.
