Port Blair Oct 12: The call for electoral transparency echoed through Ward No. 2 as the Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC) launched its ‘Vote Chori’ Signature Campaign, drawing an enthusiastic public response and solid backing from local party leaders.
Organized under the leadership of Eswar Rao, Congress leader of Ward No. 2, and supported by Jaikumar Nair, Ex-Chairperson, PBMC, the campaign aimed at raising awareness and mobilizing citizens against alleged malpractices in the electoral process. The initiative was conducted under the guidance of G. Bhasker, Chairman of the Campaign Committee, ANTCC.
Residents turned up in large numbers to sign the campaign register, pledging their support for free and fair elections. In a move to sustain momentum, signature forms were also distributed among party cadres, each assigned a target of 40 signatures to take the campaign door-to-door across various wards. The event saw an active presence of senior leaders like Zubaida Begum, State President, Mahila Congress, amongst others.
