N&M district launches Village Outreach drive to bridge Citizen-Admn gap

Diglipur, November 5: In a bid to make governance more accessible and people-centric, the District Administration of North & Middle Andaman has launched a new outreach initiative titled “Sampark se Samadhan – Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore”, aimed at strengthening direct engagement between officials and citizens.

The programme, inaugurated on November 5 by the Deputy Commissioner (N&MA), seeks to bridge the gap between the administration and the public through regular field visits and on-the-spot grievance redressal.

Under the initiative, the Deputy Commissioner, along with Assistant Commissioners, Revenue Officials, and Heads of Line Departments, will visit different villages every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The teams will meet PRI members and local residents, listen to their concerns, and resolve issues immediately wherever possible. Matters requiring higher intervention will be promptly escalated.

The first phase of the programme will begin at Diglipur from November 7 to 9, marking the start of a sustained effort to take administration directly to people’s doorsteps.

Officials said the initiative reflects the broader vision of the Chief Secretary and Commissioner (Revenue) to ensure responsive, transparent, and accountable governance across the Islands.

Describing “Sampark se Samadhan” as a step toward grassroots democracy, the Administration expressed confidence that the effort would strengthen trust and deliver timely solutions to citizens’ needs.

Residents have been urged to participate actively and cooperate with the visiting teams to make the drive meaningful and effective.
