New Delhi, October 26, 2025: For the first time, India will host the Asia Pacific Accident Investigation Group (APAC-AIG) meeting and workshop, a key international event under the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) framework. The four-day conference, organised by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) on behalf of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, will be held from October 28 to 31, 2025, in New Delhi.
The event will be inaugurated by Union Minister of Civil Aviation Shri Rammohan Naidu, and is expected to see participation from around 90 aircraft accident investigators representing ICAO member states from the Asia-Pacific region and various international organisations.
The APAC-AIG meeting, held annually, serves as a platform for enhancing regional cooperation and expertise sharing among investigation authorities. Hosting this event marks a significant milestone for India in the realm of aviation safety management and investigation capabilities.
The workshop component, scheduled for October 28–29, will focus on key areas of aircraft accident investigation processes, reporting protocols, and technical advancements. Officials from AAIB, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), and other global participants will exchange insights and best practices.
Subsequent discussions among ICAO member states and AAIB representatives will take place on October 30 and 31, centering on strategies to improve coordination, enhance technical readiness, and strengthen collaborative investigation frameworks across the Asia-Pacific region.
This initiative underscores India’s growing role in international aviation governance and commitment to global flight safety standards.
