Port Blair, Oct. 14: The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, has issued a public notice concerning the proposed sale of mortgaged properties belonging to Mr. Sudip Chakraborty, proprietor of Chakraborty Hospital, following default in repayment of loans taken from HDFC Bank Ltd. under healthcare financing schemes.
According to the notice, the borrower had mortgaged properties located at Pahargaon village under Sri Vijaya Puram Tehsil, which were later classified as Non-Performing Assets (NPA). After receiving a notice under Section 13(2) of the SARFAESI Act, 2002, the borrower voluntarily surrendered the properties and gave written consent for their sale.
HDFC Bank has now sought permission from the Administration to proceed with the auction of the properties through public, private, or e-auction channels, as per legal provisions.
The Deputy Commissioner has invited claims or objections, if any, within seven days from the date of the notice. In the absence of objections, the Administration will permit the sale in accordance with the SARFAESI Act and local land regulations.
