Port Blair, Oct. 14: Booking a ship ticket in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands just got easier and faster — now available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In a major boost to passenger convenience, the Directorate of Shipping Services (DSS) has expanded its STARS e-Ticketing System to allow round-the-clock online reservations, eliminating the earlier time restriction of 9 AM to 4 PM.
The upgraded facility was launched today by the Chief Secretary, Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar, at a brief function held in the Conference Hall of the Secretariat.
With this enhancement, passengers can now book ship tickets anytime, anywhere through the official portal https://dss.andamannicobar.gov.in/eticketing, which also offers ship schedules, fare details, and route information. A QR code for quick access has been added for user ease.
Developed by a team from CRIS (Centre for Railway Information Systems) led by Ms. V.K. Nazeera Siddique, Senior Project Engineer, the project marks another step in the Administration
