Sri Vijaya Puram | October 8, 2025 : The District Industries Centre (DIC) under the Department of Industries, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, will conduct a series of ‘Awareness cum Motivational Programmes’ on the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and other government-sponsored self-employment schemes.
The initiative aims to motivate unemployed youth and provide them with practical guidance for setting up their own ventures under various government schemes. The programmes will be held from the end of the second week of October 2025 onwards across different parts of Shaheed Dweep, in collaboration with Gram Panchayats, line departments, and banks.
Objectives of the Programme
The awareness sessions will:
- Disseminate information about self-employment opportunities under PMEGP and allied schemes.
- Offer hands-on guidance on filling and submitting applications for financial assistance.
- Facilitate on-the-spot collection and online submission of applications through the official PMEGP portal.
- Assist applicants with documentation and bank linkage for availing scheme benefits.
Who Can Participate
Unemployed individuals from Shaheed Dweep interested in starting ventures under Manufacturing, Service, or Trading sectors can attend the sessions.
Participants are advised to carry the following documents:
- Aadhaar Card
- Local Certificate
- Category Certificate (if applicable)
- Educational Qualification Certificates
